Blue Badge Rules

Jersey Rules for Blue Badges

The Blue Badge as issued in the UK or Europe applies in Jersey but the rules are not as in the UK.

A blue badge does not allow parking on yellow lines for any period of time.

Parking is free in all the public car parks however there may be restrictions on the length of time that applies – please check signage in each car park.

In the Sand Street car park in St Helier there is a number recognition camera system.

Visitors to the Island with blue badges must register with the car park office on the ground floor and free parking ends after 3 hours. On Saturdays when the office is closed registration can be done by telephoning 448669.

In the other car parks parking is free whether in a space reserved for blue badges or not for the time shown in that car park.

In the streets in St Helier parking is free in the places reserved for blue badge holders for the time shown on the signs. If a paying space is used a one unit card (74p) in 2014 is needed and that extends the permitted period to a maximum of 2 hours.

At all times a blue badge must be shown in conjunction with a time clock.

Parking at the Elizabeth Terminal is free in the 2 spaces outside the enclosed car park for a limited time. In the paying area an hour card is required.

Parking at the airport is not free and payment is similar to that for people without blue badges.
